Big B-ullshit

Big B may revisit Tirupati to offer ornaments worth Rs. 100 million for having recovered from a recent surgery. TOI Link.

Why not donate the money to CRY or similar organization which really needs the cash? Might even get some tax benefit out of doing that!

Your thoughts welcome.

LOL!! Yes it's strange that so much money goes to the richest God! ;) My boss once told me that "Money attracts money" and that set me thinking - it is a very logical yet profound statement he made!

As for why he did not donate to CRY etc - individual choice! You may see a sense in that, but he does not and it's as simple as that. Most temples have their own charity wings and eventually it goes to them, may not be through CRY, but through someone else.

My thought about giving - it is the giving that matters. Once given, one must detach himself/herself from that and not expect it to take the path that he or she wants ... that is the cause for most problems including NKF ;) Giving is the dharma ... the phrase from the Gita holds true here too.

What I hate though is the Media publicity. But hey, they need to make money too !! Hehehe It's amusing, this world!

True, it is giving that matters. But I have two issues with giving:

1. WHAT are you giving - Big B recd suggestion from temple trust to present a diamond bracelet (they have one, they want to make a pair). So 9-10 crore is just going to cause more glare in the garbagriha.

2. WHERE does the money trail lead - does anyone have the accounts of how much money comes in and where it goes? Is there any sort of audit on the trust accounts?

Anywez, my biggest issue with Big B is - when you are a larger-than-life character and people look up to you, you actions (the highly publicized ones) should set an example - be a role model. India needs them.

Point 1: Had no clue they wanted that!! Hehe It's funny.

Point 2: This is what I meant previously about giving... if one must be on top of things, there's no other way than to get involved directly, otherwise - there is no option but to trust! Of course, some people misuse that and some people don't ... so it again boils down to individual choice.

As for him being a role model - he was made into one by the people, and it's a HUGE responsibility. People just have to be more prudent about following anyone and everyone, but then - its not what happens. So May God be happy with the money that Big B gave him and save the rest of us :) Heh
